Payroll Officer

Fixed Term – 6 month contract with the possibility of it going permanent

An exciting opportunity to work with a global organisation.

The successful candidate will have the ability hit the ground running in this busy environment and respond quickly and efficiently to payroll errors, employee issues and liaise with team members in HR, Finance, Scheduling (Roster), & Production departments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Work collaboratively with Payroll team members
  • Ensure weekly payroll data is approved and processed in a timely manner
  • Check payroll calculations in line with EA / Awards
  • Assist with Fortnightly Salary payroll processing
  • Ensure legislative compliance is maintained for statutory requirements
  • Process end to end payroll task as required, including but limited to:
  • Employee masterfile updates
  • Payroll transactions – data entry and imports
  • Reporting, checks and audits
  • Process STP
  • Reconciliations
  • Any spreadsheets to be maintained / created
  • EOM processes, including superannuation processing   

The successful candidate will have the following skills:

  • Excellent computer skills, ideally with experience with Chris21 and Kronos
  • Ability to keep up to date with changing employment conditions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective written and verbal communication with all stakeholders- internal and external
  • Attention to detail and organisational skills to ensure effective payroll processes are correct and checked properly in accordance with EA’s, Awards, FW, ATO, Super and any additional legislation
  • Ability to work within payroll processing timeframes.
